It started with a paper book
Our story begins with a practicing massage therapist with more than twenty years on the table—studio, mobile, corporate calls, and in-home sessions from the North Shore to Boston, Nantucket, and across Massachusetts. For decades, she kept her practice running smoothly out of a trusted paper book.
Her husband teased her about it at first. Why not use a standard booking app? Why not at least Google Calendar?
When she explained why, it opened up a much bigger conversation.
She had already looked for online tools, but found that most were built for generic corporate meetings—not for a real person in a room with a client, a door, and a practice to run while raising a daughter. A standard calendar on the internet doesn’t care who sees when you’re working or who books a slot when you’re alone in the studio. It doesn’t know a brand-new stranger from a regular you’ve trusted for ten years, and it usually dumps endless back-and-forth scheduling into your personal text messages.
It took open conversations for him to truly see those challenges through her eyes. Once he understood the real-world safety and boundary needs of independent practice, they knew they had to build something fundamentally different.
She joke-calls herself a “caveman” when it comes to technology—and that became our guiding design rule. Today, whenever we build a new feature, we ask: is this effortless to use? If software makes your day harder, it doesn’t belong in our app. Tools should simply be where you expect them to be, working quietly in the background so you can focus on your work.
Bridging technology and practice
Olamide Oladosu, founder and senior platform engineer, spent his career designing high-performance systems built to keep data secure, handle heavy server loads, and manage complex databases—including key security and permissions architecture at SimpliSafe. We share that background because managing data and physical security deeply shaped our software mindset, though SimpliSafe did not build this product and is not affiliated with it.
He brought the server architecture, database integrity, and security model. She brought the deep, hands-on understanding of the client relationship.
Together, they created an inner circle, not another noisy marketplace. Pro starts with three circles: Public (the public booking link), Referred (someone already in the book brought them), and Trusted (you invited them). You decide what each circle can see and book. On Alone days, the public link stays closed, and new bookings stay with Trusted. Need Help sits on the In Session clock: it quietly alerts someone you named so they can come check. It is not 911.
Best of all, you don’t have to overhaul your current routine. Whether you use Square, Vagaro, or your own paper book, VIPvybz sits comfortably right beside it.
At its heart, service is a relationship—one person solving a need, and the other sustaining a practice. That exchange deserves a system designed to protect, manage, and honor it.
