Set up Stripe Connect

Connect Stripe to take card payments on VIPvybz and unlock Pro free when charges are enabled. This guide walks you through setup in the mobile app and explains what unlocks afterward.

What Stripe Connect does on VIPvybz

Stripe Connect lets you accept cards as the merchant of record on VIPvybz. Once connected, you can use:

  • Booking deposits and prepay when clients book a service.
  • Profile Pay — VIP clients pay you by card in the app.
  • Charge / point of sale — desk checkout from inventory or a custom amount (app and online pro portal).
  • Gift cards and VybzAccess redemption at booking or checkout.

VIPvybz applies a small platform fee (about 3%) on Connect card charges. You receive the rest; Stripe's processing fees apply as usual.

Unlock Pro free

When Stripe reports that charges are enabled on your account, VIPvybz unlocks Pro automatically at no subscription cost. That includes:

  • Core pro tools (sessions, VIP clients, online booking, and related features).
  • Your first business location included.

Prefer Pro without card payments? Subscribe under Profile → Subscriptions in the app or Billing on the web portal instead of connecting Stripe.

Setup steps (mobile app)

Stripe Connect onboarding runs in the VIPvybz mobile app today. Use the same account on web once setup is complete.

  1. Open Profile → Client Payments (Stripe).
  2. Tap CONNECT (or FINISH SETUP if you started before).
  3. Complete Stripe's Express onboarding: business details, identity verification, and bank account for payouts.
  4. Return to the app. When status shows charges enabled, Pro unlocks automatically.
  5. Accept card payments on bookings turns on automatically when verification completes, so deposits can apply to your services without an extra step.

Web portal

After Connect is ready on your account, the online pro portal can use Charge, inventory, and web billing. To start Connect, use the mobile app steps above. To buy Pro without Connect, open Billing on the web portal.

Troubleshooting

  • Not connected — tap CONNECT and complete Stripe's form.
  • Pending — Stripe still needs information. Tap FINISH SETUP to reopen onboarding and submit any missing items.
  • Pro didn't unlock — Pro free requires charges enabled, not just a started application. Check status under Profile → Client Payments, or subscribe to Pro under Subscriptions / Billing.
  • Card options missing at booking — confirm Connect is ready and that the service has a deposit or full-payment policy set under Services.
